Neural Organisation Technique- Modality ProfileCranial FunctionOne of the major contributions to kinesiology by Dr Ferreri is his groundbreaking research in the area of cranial function. His work with many neurological conditions including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, dyslexia & autism as well as head injury & minimal brain injury have led to a whole new understanding of the effects of cranial disorganisation on the client. Symptoms of this disorganisation can be major including disorientation, headaches, dizziness, lack of focus, eye muscle spasm leading to reading difficulties & learning & cognition problems, including ADD & ADHD to seizure activity, muscle dyspraxia, emotional & mood changes to name just a few. Often effects are hidden & difficult to connect to a particular event or accident. Another major contributor to this cranial dysfunction is stress especially if it is long term or unresolved. Deficits in cranial function can occur through trauma to the head, physical or emotional as well as through birth injury. There is a possibility of genetic proclivity but this can also be generally remedied through NOT intervention. In clinical practice I have had many clients who have had head injuries that have not responded to standard medical treatment. Often clients have had professional help, have been medicated &/or undergone physical therapy but have not responded. Often these clients are in constant pain, are usually disoriented, have difficulty even living with the stress of daily activity. In most cases NOT in combination with other kinesiology techniques, especially those that interface with the brain, have had profound results. In some cases the client has reported feeling better then before they had the accident. |
